A  CHILD  KILLED

The Acting City Coroner, Mr. W. T. Pinhey, J.P., held an inquest at the Coroner's Court, Chancery Square, Monday, relative to the death of a little boy named William Gooderson, aged 4½ years, who died on June 7 last. Deceased was playing with other children in Cook-street, Surry Hills, and, just as a horse and cart was passing, rushed from the footway across the street, and ran into the horse. He was knocked down, and before the driver could pull up the wheel of the cart passed over his back. The boy did not appear to have suffered any material injury, and was taken home, where he remained till June 25. Serious symptoms began to show themselves afterwards, and his removal to the Sydney Hospital was ordered, where he died as stated. Death was due to blood poisoning, the result of injuries. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death.
