GOODERSON  ARCHIVE  NEWSFLASH

Following the DoVE (Digitisation of Vital Events) project, which in early 2017 enabled the release by the GRO of extra data relating to the index of births that took place in England and Wales during the period from 1st July 1837 to the 30th June 1911, organisers of the Gooderson Archive have been carefully collecting that part of the additional data applicable to the Gooderson surname.   This includes the full forenames, mother's maiden name, and sex of each child.

The search engine used by the Gooderson Archive for the index of births in England and Wales has now been modified to accomodate the new data, all of which was uploaded to the www.gooderson.org website earlier today.   This greatly simplifies Gooderson family tree research because, among other things, it is now easy to locate records of sibling births by searching the Gooderson Archive database using just the mother's maiden name.
