Welcome and thank you for visiting my homepage. I’m the Curator and Archivist of a small telecommunications museum in East London, England, but my main interests are in genealogy and family history.

These interests were aroused more than thirty years ago and I’m currently a member of a number of international organisations including the Guild of One-Name Studies (#2882) and the Society of Genealogists, together with a number of British Genealogical and Family History Societies.

I’m currently involved in one-name studies of two of the surnames of my mother’s ancestors, namely GOODERSON and HICKMORE, both of which have been officially registered with the Guild of One-Name Studies and have their own individual websites. These studies include all known variants of the names, the most common of which are HICKMER and GOODISON respectively. The websites have deliberately been designed to be as simple as possible to use, since I’m preliminarily interested in genealogy and not in the computer technology involved. Consequently, anyone who is expecting ultra-slick websites with "bells, whistles" and other gimmicks will be sorely disappointed!
