ARTHUR HERBERT GOODERSON OF NORTHAMPTON, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE – 1937

 
 

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me ARTHUR HERBERT GOODERSON of 16 Abington Park Crescent in the County Borough of Northampton Bank Manager I hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions made by me and declare this to be my last will as follows:- 1. I APPOINT my wife CLARICE MARY GOODERSON and my daughter MARY CLARICE GOODERSON (hereinafter called "my Trustees") to be EXECUTORS and Trustees of this my will 2. I devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Trustees Upon trust that my Trustees shall (subject to the power to retain the same contained in clause 3 hereof) sell call in and convert into money the same or such part thereof as shall not consist of money with power to postpone such sale calling in and conversion for such a period as my Trustees without being liable to account may think proper and shall out of the money produced by such sale calling in and conversion and out of my ready money pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and shall invest the residue of the said monies with power to vary the investments and shall stand possessed of the residue of the said moneys and the investments for the time being representing the same (hereinafter called "my residuary estate") in trust to pay the income thereof to my wife during her life and after her death Upon trust in equal shares for my daughter the said Mary Clarice Gooderson and my son Richard Norman Gooderson and for all or any of the issue living at my death who attain the age of twenty one years or being female marry under that age of any child of mine who died in my lifetime leaving issue living at my death such issue to take through all degrees according to their stocks in equal shares the share or shares which their parent would have taken if living at my death and having then attained a vested interest but so that no issue shall take whose parent is living at my death and so capable of taking 3. Notwithstanding the power of sale hereinbefore given to my Trustees I authorise and empower my Trustees to retain my residuary estate in the same state of investment as existing at my death without being liable for any loss arising thereby but nevertheless my Trustees shall in their absolute and uncontrolled discretion have power if they think it advisable so to do to sell all or any part of my residuary estate and invest the proceeds of sale thereof (after deduction of expenses) in any investments authorised by law as hereinbefore provided 4. I hereby authorise my Trustees in their absolute discretion to apply from time to time all or any part of the capital of my estate for the maintenance and benefit of my wife the said Clarice Mary Gooderson or my children the said Mary Clarice Gooderson and Richard Norman Gooderson without being liable to account for the exercise of such discretion IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand this eighth day of April one thousand nine hundred and thirty three
