EDWARD HORACE GOODERSON OF SWINDON, WILTSHIRE – 1963

 
 

I EDWARD HORACE GOODERSON of Number 39 The Mall Swindon in the County of Wilts Chief Machine Shops Foreman British Railways (Western Region) hereby revoke all former Wills and testamentary dispositions made by me and declare this to be my last Will

1. I Appoint my daughter Frida Alice Agnes Plumb and my son-in-law John Samuel Plumb both of Number 67 Darnick Road Sutton Coldfield in the County of Warwick to be the Executors and Trustees hereof

2. I Give and Bequeath the undermentioned specific and pecuniary legacies free of all duties payable on or by reason of my death

 

(a) The sum of Three hundred pounds to my son-in-law the said John Samuel Plumb

 

(b) The sum of One hundred pounds to my grand-daughter Joyce Mary Plumb on attaining the age of twenty-one years

 

(c) The sum of One hundred pounds to my grand-daughter Enid Plumb on attaining the age of twenty-one years

3. I Devise all my freehold piece of land situate at the rear of Goddard Avenue and lying between it and the Town Gardens Swindon aforesaid comprising eighteen perches or thereabouts and at present managed by Herbert Charles Cowley of Number 81 Lansdown Road Swindon aforesaid to the said Herbert Charles Cowley in fee simple free of all duties payable on or by reason of my death

4. I Give devise and bequeath the whole of the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects both real and personal and wheresoever situate unto my Trustees Upon Trust to sell call in and convert the same or such part thereof as shall not consist of money into money (with power to postpone such sale calling in and conversion for so long as my Trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit without being responsible for loss) and to stand possessed of the net proceeds of such sale calling in and conversion and my ready money (after payment thereout of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses) Upon Trust for my daughter the said Frida Alice Agnes Plumb for her own use and benefit absolutely PROVIDED ALWAYS and I HEREBY DECLARE that if my said daughter shall predecease me leaving issue living at the date of my death who attain the age of twenty-one years or previously marry such issue shall stand in the place of my deceased daughter and take per stirpes and equally between them if more than one the share or interest which my said deceased daughter would have taken if she had been living at the date of my death
