THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT.

- of me -

WILLIAM CHARLES GOODERSON of "Greycroft", Abberley in the County of Worcester Retired Bank Manager which I make this twenty-ninth day of November On thousand nine hundred and fifty eight.

 

I REVOKE all former Wills and other testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

 

I APPOINT my Sons Arthur Robert Gooderson and William Dennis Gooderson and my Daughter Kathleen Marion Gooderson (hereinafter called "my Trustees") to be the Executors and Trustees hereof and also Trustees for the purposes of the Settled Land Act 1925 or any Statutory modification thereto.

 

I BEQUEATH all my Diaries and Manuscripts free of duty to the said Arthur Robert Gooderson if he shall survive me, but if he shall not so survive me then I GIVE AND BEQUEATH the same to the said William Dennis Gooderson.

 

I GIVE DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all the rest residue and remainder of my property both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Trustees UPON TRUST to sell and convert the same into money and to stand possessed of the proceeds thereof and of my ready money in trust after payment thereout of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to pay the following legacies free of duty.

To my Dear Wife Kathleen Mabel Gooderson Five hundred pounds (£500)

To my Son Arthur Robert Gooderson Two hundred pounds (£200)

To my Son William Dennis Gooderson Two hundred pounds (£200)

To my Daughter Kathleen Marion Gooderson (Five hundred pounds £500)

To my Daughter-in-law Mary Saymer Gooderson (Wife of my son Arthur Robert Gooderson) Fifty pounds (£50)

To my Daughter-in-law Patricia Mary Railton Gooderson (Wife of my son William Dennis Gooderson) Fifty Pounds (£50)

To my Granddaughter Hilary Seymer Luker Fifty pounds (£50)

To my Granddaughter Jennifer Mary Gooderson on attaining the age of 21 years Fifty pounds (£50)

To my Granddaughter Bridger Mary Gooderson on her attaining the age of 21 years Fifty pounds (£50)

To my Granddaughter Catherine Jill Gooderson on her attaining the age of 21 years Fifty pounds (£50)

And to stand possessed of the residue of such proceeds and ready money UPON TRUST to invest the same and to pay the income resulting therefrom to my Wife the said Kathleen Mabel Gooderson for and during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease In trust to realise such investments and to divide the same equally between such of them the said Arthur Robert Gooderson, William Dennis Gooderson and Kathleen Marion Gooderson as shall be living at the date of the decease of my said Wife and the issue then living of such of them as shall be then dead leaving issue such issue to take only the share or shares which his her or their deceased parent or parents would if then living have taken under this Trust.

 

I EMPOWER my Trustees to postpone the sale or conversion of the whole or any part of my estate for so long as they shall deem fit and I DECLARE to be my Will that such part of my Estate as shall remain unconverted shall be deemed to be an authorised investment under this my Will.
